What is Ashtanga Yoga?
Ashtanga Yoga was brought to the west by the Indian Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and is currently one of the most popular yoga styles. It is characterized by powerful movements and breath, and dynamic transitions between postures. Ashtanga in Sanskrit means "eight limbs". Ashtanga yoga is named after the eight limbs of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Power Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga are dynamic yoga styles derived from the Ashtanga Yoga System.
