First use
All our yoga blankets are made from responsible materials: the Love Generation blankets are made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, and the Manduka blankets are made from a recycled cotton or wool blend.
Washing before use is not necessary. The blankets are ready to use and feel naturally soft and comfortable.
Smell
Cotton blankets are naturally odorless.
The wool blanket does smell a bit... of wool. This smell is inherent to the material and will naturally diminish over time and with each wash.
Maintenance
To keep your blanket beautiful and soft for as long as possible, we recommend that you only wash it when absolutely necessary – for example, if there are visible stains.
The organic cotton blankets from Love Generation have an extra soft surface, which is created by a careful mechanical process of brushing and shaving. After washing, this surface can get a slightly terry-cloth-like character. This is completely normal and does not affect the comfort or quality of the blanket.
Cleaning a yoga blanket
- Wash the blanket at 30°C in the wool or delicate wash program of the washing machine.
- Use a liquid detergent for wool or delicate fibers, without bleach.
- Do not use fabric softener – this can cause the fibres to stick together.
- For colored blankets, skin and environmentally friendly dyes are used. These hardly give off, but to be on the safe side, wash them separately the first time, and then with similar colors.
- Spin on the wool or delicates spin program.
- Do not shake the blanket when wet or hang it by the edges – this can distort its shape.
- The organic cotton blankets from Love Generation are best dried in the dryer at a low temperature - this will make them wonderfully soft again.
- Manduka blankets should not be tumble dried. Let these blankets air dry, preferably lying flat or on a rack.
