To avoid color shift, Manduka recommends washing the hand towel with the same colors twice before using it for the first time. Machine wash on cold with similar colors. Then wring out the excess water and hang to dry, or dry the towel at a low temperature in the dryer. (Just hanging it out is recommended: the towel dries very quickly, and if you hang it nice and smooth, you don't have to iron it afterwards).
